Maddie Casto

Owner, Founder, Producer, Social Media & Marketing Manager, Actor

Maddie Casto is a graduate of Wright State University with a BFA in acting with an emphasis in Musical Theater. A Columbus, Ohio native (please don't hold that against her) Maddie moved to NYC after graduation and performed nationally from Las Vegas to Seattle. She has a rich background in both lavishly staged musicals and plays and has helped create over a dozen new musicals for theaters and audiences of all sizes. She has written and created two one-woman shows - “Broadway Divas” filled with over two hours of classic Broadway and Jazz Hits and “Bobs Girl” inspired by USO Performer, Bob Hope. She officially settled down in Charleston in 2015. She had been working with 34 West Theater Company traveling back and forth between Charleston and New York when during one Christmas contract, she met her soon to be husband Daniel and his two cats and knew Charleston was home. Shortwave Kitsch is a dream come true and a passion project. She can't wait for you to come and enjoy. Many thanks to Brandon, Brooke and Kristen. All her love to Daniel, Dad and Eileen. 143. Kristen N. Granet

Owner, Founder, Producer, Editor

& Business Manager, Singer

A Charleston native, born and raised in Mount Pleasant, SC, Kristen has been a part of the arts her entire life-- in choir since she could speak, graduated in the inaugural class as a vocal major from the Charleston County School of the Arts (2nd at SC All-State Choir for Soprano II in 2002), and sang in the auditioned College of Charleston Concert Choir (placed & has performed at NACDA conferences: Regional in Nashville & National in Los Angeles). Currently a Sr. Accounting Specialist at ArganoCSS, she’s dabbled in the worlds of being a Freelance Writer, Asst. Bank Manager, Management Consultant, Co-Commercial Producer and Events Coordinator Extraordinaire. She continues to be active in Un-Authorized (a writer's group where she become a published poet & winner of several awards), recently auditioned & was accepted as a member of the Charleston Caroling Company, & is Co-Founder, Co-Member, Co-Manager of Hat on a Hat Productions. She is thrilled to be presenting to y'all this Shortwave Kitsch Radio Show, excited about the opportunity for these works to be performed on stage, & ecstatic about having them live on in listeners' ears in perpetuity!

Brandon L. Joyner

Creator, Owner, Founder, Producer, Writer, Lyricist, Director, Actor

Brandon is a performer and playwright born and bred in Charleston, SC. Some of his favorite performances include Elvis in Rock and Roll Heaven, Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors, Bobby in Company and Albin in La Cage aux Folles. Brandon also is an award-winning Stand-Up Comedian as well as Emmy Nominated for his work on the College of Charleston Yuletide Madrigal Feast. He received a degree in Vocal Performance with a concentration in Opera from the College of Charleston. Brandon placed as a quarterfinalist in The Finish Line Script Competition and a finalist in Beyond The Curve International Film Festival for his scripts Shelter in Place, Timeshare and Eggs. An active union member of SAG-AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild‐American Federation of Television and Radio Artists), he also occasionally receives a residual check from his work on Army Wives. Brandon often considers himself the “Creator of Worlds,” but only when pontificating from the security of his porcelain throne.

Brooke Rash

Owner, Founder, Producer 

& Foley Sound Manager

Brooke is from Charleston, SC and loves all things theatre. She is a writer, director, stage manager and currently Shortwave Kitsch’s Foley Artist. Brooke is a part of a writing group she started with her fellow writing friends. Through this writing group, Un-Authorized, Brooke co-wrote two award-winning feature-length horror scripts with her writing partner, Brandon L. Joyner. She is so excited to be a part of Shortwave Kitsch and also hopes one day to own a keytar.

Joanna Norwood

Musical Director, Accompianist
 

Joanna Norwood began studying classical piano during her childhood in Camden, South Carolina. She first attended Converse University and studied with Dr. Douglas Weeks. Upon his retirement, Ms. Norwood transferred to the College of Charleston to complete her degree with Dr. Paul Sánchez.

 

In 2023, she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. Her degree includes a concentration in piano performance. Ms. Norwood currently teaches piano at the Charleston Academy of Music and serves as the organist at Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity in Charleston, SC.

 

Matt Ciclon

Sound Design, Sound Engineer
 

Matt Ciclon is an American record producer, mixer, audio engineer, and musician based in Charleston, South Carolina. With a career spanning over two decades, Matt has made significant contributions to the music industry, specializing in Rock and Christian Contemporary music. He established his first recording studio in 2006, subsequently founding the Holy City Music record label and studio in 2015, which has served as a platform for emerging talents. Over the years, Matt has collaborated with notable figures such as Matt Malpass, recognized for his work with Blink 182, Lil Nas X, and 311, as well as Matt Goldman and Gabriel Wilson, both renowned for their contributions to the music industry.

Beyond his expertise in production and engineering, Matt exhibits his musical prowess through his adeptness with various instruments, including keyboards, synthesizers, guitars, drums, and the trumpet. Having produced over 5000 songs, his legacy is one defined by innovation, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to musical excellence in the contemporary music landscape.

Pedro Toro

Producer, Composer

Pedro Manuel Toro is a Venezuelan pianist, music educator and arranger, who has studied at the School of Psychology in the Catholic University Andres Bello and National Conservatory of Music “Juan José Landaeta” both in Caracas, Venezuela.  He was also awarded with scholarships to study at Centro Universale of Bel Canto (CUBEC) in Vignola and Modena, Italy and at the prestigious Centre de Perfeccionament “Plácido Domingo” in Valencia, Spain where he took lessons with prominent pianists, conductors and singers. He holds both a Master's and an Artist Certificate in Collaborative Piano at Azusa Pacific University, CA, studying under the guidance of Professor Joel Clifft, DMA.

Mr. Toro has participated in recitals in Palau de les Arts (Valencia, Spain), Teatro Comunale di Treviso, Teatro Rossini di Pesaro, Teatro Mancinelli di Orvieto, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro Teresa Carreno (Caracas), Alex Theater (Glendale), Zipper Hall (Colburn School), and Luckman Theater (CSULA). He is pianist at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Charleston, SC.
